Top 10 UFC Grapplers Today

This is a top 10 list on the best grapplers in the UFC right now, so that said there are some fighters that aren't in here like Jon Jones because hes not currently fighting and Frank Mir because hes no longer with the UFC.

10: Fabricio Werdum

Fabricio Werdum starts off this list because he is arguably the best grappler in the heavyweight division. Werdum is 21-6 and has 10 submissions. Werdum has never lost an MMA fight by submission and also has submitted the likes of Antonio Nogueira, Cain Volaquez and Fedor Emelianenko. Werdum is extremely dangerous off his back and has won the gold, bronze and silver two times each at the ADCC Submission world championships. Werdum has also got four gold medals at the Pan American Jiu-Jitsu Championships.

9: Tony Ferguson

Tony Ferguson is a very dangerous fighter in the lightweight division. He trains in 10th Planet Jiu-Jitsu under one of the greatest Jiu-Jitsu practitioners ever Eddie Bravo. Tony is 22-3 with 8 submissions and is currently on a nine fight winning streak and heading into an interm title fight against Khabib Nurmagomedov. Tony has submitted people like Edson Barboza, Abel Trujillo and Joe Schiling.

8:Johny Hendricks

Johny Hendricks is a wrestling machine. He is a former UFC welterweight champion and an NCAA Division | All-American out of Oklahoma State University. Jonhy has wond KO of the night three time against Jon Fitch, TJ Waldburger and Martin Kampmann but now relies heavily on his wrestling. His claim to fame is from having an extremely close fight against George St-Pierre witch in my eyes he should have won. also from his fights of the night with Carlos Condit and Robbie lawler.

7:Frankie Edgar

The man known as the 'Answer' isn't on this list because he hold guys down all three rounds or goes out there and is throwing out different submissions left and right. Hes on this list because he uses his black belt in BJJ and his collegiate wrestling background to keep the fight where ever he wants it. If he wants to stand and box with you he will, if he wants to take you to the ground and grind you out for five rounds he will.Frankie has never been KO'd or taped out for a reason and that reason is that he trains under Ricardo Almeida and Renzo Gracie and that's also the reason hes a former lightweight champion and is always one or two fights away from having a title shot.

6.Daniel Cormier

Daniel Cormier is one of if not the greatest Wrestlers to have ever fought in UFC history. Daniel is 18-1 and his only loss is to Jon Jones witch isn't to bad. If you ever want a good read check out his Wrestling accomplishments on Wikipedia, its ridiculous. He is an Olympic Gold medalist and current UFC light heavyweight champion and former Strikeforce heavyweight champion beating Anderson Silva, Anthony Johnson, Alexander Gustafsson, Dan Henderson, Frank Mir and Josh Barnett.

5.Ronda Rousey

Probably the prettiest fighter to grace this list Ronda Rousey is the longest and most dominant women's champion in UFC history. She is an Olympic bronze medalist in Judo and one of the best Judo practitioners in the UFC and the best female grappler ever. shes had nine arm bar submission wins with eight of those in a row and all of them except one in the first round.

4: Yoel Romero

Yoel Romero wins scariest fight on this list just from looks alone, but once you've seen him fight you'll be plain confused. You'll be asking questions like why did they that that poor man on the other side of the cage fight him and what world did this strange being come from. I'll answer that second question for you, Cuba. He won silver in the 2000 Sydney Olympics and has won four gold in the Pan American Championships . A few men Yoel decided to trow around for a bit are Chris Weidman, Ronaldo Souza, Lyoto Machida and Tim Kennedy.

3: Ronaldo 'Jacare' Souza

A man also know as the alligator is know for his slick submissions and dominant ground control. Jacare has claimed a variety of limbs from his past fight such as an arm from tim botch, Chris Camozzi and Ed Herman. He also owns a collection of necks from Gegard Mousasi, Robbie Lawler and again Chris Camozzi. Souza has a record of 24-4 with a whoping 17 submissions.

2: Khabib 'The Eagle' Nurmagomedov

A terrifying Wrestler from Russia who is versed in the technique of mauling people like a bear Khabib described in few words is just plain dominant. There are actual videos of him as a kid wrestling bears, no really check it out for yourself ill wait......

See told you. 'The Eagle' is 24-0 in his MMA career and has beaten the who's who at lightweight like Rafael Dos Anjos, Michael Johnson and And Abel Trujillo basically with pure wrestling skills.

1: Demian Maia

Demian Maia has seemingly come here in a time machine fighting with the game plan of a fighter from the UFC stone age. Maia will come into the octagon and only use Jiu-Jitsu like he's Royce Gracie about to fight Dan Severn in 1994. the exception there is that he's fighting the top 10 fighters of the welterweight division in 2017. with a record of 24-6 with 12 submissions Demian has made a major carer resurgent's from his early UFC carer where he tried to fight with guys in the stand up department. Maia just didn't have the physical weaponry the other fighters had so one day it clicked that maby he should take that part out of his game and put 100% of his focus on taking guys down and drowning them with Jiu-Jitsu. A few men Maia has submitted are Carlos Condit, Matt Brown, Neil Magny, Chael Sonnen and Rick Story to name a few.
