UFC 209 Pre Fight
UFC 209 is going down this saturday and it has some must see fights on it.
The main event to UFC 209 is the welterweight champion Tyron Woodly against Steven Wonderboy Tompson in a rematch for the welterweight belt. In there last fight they fought to a majority draw in a five round war. This fight will be very interesting to watch just to see what each fighter decides to do in regards to there game plan. Woodly is probably going to look to use more wrestling and not have his back on the cage. Tompson might be more patient in the earlier rounds and may use more kicks. The weird thing about there last fight is that neither guy really used there strengths. Wonderboy basically just boxed and Woodly took wonder boy down in the first rounds and didn't even really try after that. This fight is going to be competitive but i feel Wonderboy will get the decision win.
In the co-main Khabib Nurmagomedov will face Tony Ferguson in a five round fight for the (for some reason) interim lightweight championship. this is on of the most interesting match ups in a long wile. Khabib is one of the best grapplers in all of the UFC and tony is a strait killer. Khabib will go want to close the distance and clinch up tony, that's a definite. The interesting thing is when Khabib try's this how well will Tony keep him away and if Khabib does take him down how well will it test out with Tonys Jiu-Jitsu. buy apparently Kabib is out because of weight cutting problems, that's why he will not get a title shot fore a long while.
Lando Vannata is fighting David Trymur and i think if Woodly vs Tompson doesn't get fight of the night this is a shoe in. There two guys are very good strikers and move forward. Lando is my favorite new fighter of 2016 and i think he will out strike Trymur. Trymur could catch him but i think Lando is on his way to the top and i just don't think Trymur is the guy to stop that. I'm calling a first of second round KO for Lando Vannata.
Rashad Evans is fighting Daniel Kelly and this is a bit of a strange fight. Kelly is a very surprising fighter. i seen him fight Carlose Junior last year and he got the crap beat out of him in the first round. Kelly came back and won by TKO , but the thing that bugs me about Kelly is just how uncomfortable he looks in there. Rashad has been out due to medical reasons for a while but i think will win by decision.
Alistair Overeem is facing off against Mark Hunt in a hopefully exiting 3 round fight. hunt is in a weird spot right now, just getting off a lawsuit against the UFC. Hunt says he needs to fight because he needs money witch is not a good mind set going in to a fight with a guy like Overeem. Overeem is in a bit of a career resurgence right now and is fighting very smart. I think Overeem is knocking hunt out in the second.
this card is pretty good but could have been so much better and its just so disappointing that Kabib went out the way he did.
